Double Jabbed No Longer Need to Self-Isolate if ‘Pinged’, Even Though Vaccines Don’t Stop You Getting Infected

From today, those who’ve had two Covid vaccinations no longer need to self-isolate if they get ‘pinged’ or are contacted by NHS Test and Trace notifying them they’ve come into contact with someone who’s tested positive. The BBC has more.

People in England and Northern Ireland who have had two Covid vaccine doses will no longer have to isolate if they come into contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.

Instead of having to quarantine for 10 days, they are now advised to take a PCR test – but this is not compulsory.

They are also advised to wear a face covering in enclosed spaces and to limit contact with others, especially the clinically vulnerable.

The guidance applies to under-18s too.

The changes to self-isolation rules have already been implemented in Scotland and Wales.

The relaxed rules in England and Northern Ireland are expected to significantly reduce the number of people being compelled to stay at home.

At its peak in July, the number of self-isolation alerts sent in England and Wales in a week was just under 700,000.

This is welcome news, obviously, but, like so much of the Government’s decision making about the coronavirus crisis, it’s completely illogical. After all, people who’ve been double jabbed are not significantly less likely to catch COVID-19 or infect others than the unvaccinated. This rule change, which was announced last month, seems to have been made before the evidence about just how ineffective the vaccines are when it comes to protecting people from infection had been digested by the Government. Or maybe the Government had digested it, but decided to press ahead with the relaxation of self-isolation rules anyway because of the havoc the ‘pingdemic’ was wreaking.

Can we now abandon the stupid contact-tracing rules for the unvaccinated, too?

spent the weekend at a festival. the only evidence that covid even exists was the jabbing tent offering freebies for jabs. I asked for the AZ but they said they only had Pfizer. It had literally slipped my mind that the AZ is banned for my age group due to its dangers

outside the guardian reading classes I don’t think anybody is taking it seriously anymore

Sadly, Scotchland remains muzzled, although I’m seeing more free range humans now, including, amusingly, the big fat hi-vis “security” goon at the local Morrisons.

About the only brightish spot in Scotland is that ScotRail staff will not be expected to enforce the face-nappy edict on trains. The link is to the BBC I’m afraid – I made the mistake of looking at the comments, some of which are quite chilling.

This is a nonsense of course since we know that two vaccinations does not prevent you becoming infected. But the “double vaccinated” have to be given some reward for their unfailing obedience to The Regime.

Meanwhile the unjabbed have never had to self-isolate when pinged, because we never get pinged, because we don’t have the track and trace app, only give false details when asked to “sign in” and don’t co-operate with The Regime in any way.

Point of order, this may be viewed as a punishment by those still using the Spy-n-Snitch app.

No more automatic entitlement to another 10-day Netflix binge.

I thought the whole point of signing up for a good pinging was to get 10 days off work at full pay. I bet the pinging peaked once the good weather arrived.

Unless of course someone who tests positive gives T&T your details as a recent contact, as has just happened to my lodger. The bar he works at has had to close temporarily because a staff member gave all their numbers out when asked! Idiot. He has to isolate for 5 days despite having had no contact with him for 5 days and testing negative. Insanity.

Sadly you don’t need the App to be snitched on now. The use of the population to police this is alive and well. Friends & co-workers will know if you have come into the orbit of a “tested body”. The social pressure is odious and divisive.

The barmy illogic of government policies is proof positive that this is a political crisis, not a health-driven one.

Everything they do is for show, in pursuit of the agenda – not public benefit.

Talking about Covid theatre, if now one wants to go to the theatre, you have to complete a health status form, book everything online including drinks at intervals, have various apps, wear masks during the entire performance etc. We had more or less stopped going to the theatre because of all the woke virtue signalling nonsense that purported to be plays. Now we will not be going at all. Shame on the theatre industry, they deserve everything they get for not standing up to this nonsense.

Indiscriminate use of anti-biotics has resulted in the rise of bacteria resistant to multiple antibiotics, such that there is now just one antibiotic of last resort (may not apply to those sufficiently deeply connected).

Indiscriminate use of anti-virals leading to the rise of viruses resistant to multiple antivirals? Nah, never could happen. No precedence whatsoever. That is just plain anti-Science, anti-Vaxx hysteria.

It won’t be at all welcome news to the only people still using the Spy-n-Snitch app, i.e. the public, third and salaried-sector employees who were racking up a series of 10-day free holidays.

They’ll feel alarmed and distressed that they now don’t “have” to binge Netflix again. I foresee some tearful bun-fights with HR departments and small business owners.

The governments have long realized that this pandemic was over and are now understaking steps to save face and to cover up the huge mistakes they have made during the past two years – in form of entirely unnecessary debt and undermining democratic processes.

They are trying to paint themselves as wise rescuers of humanity who “had to” make difficult decisions, and the vaccine (rather than natural immunity) as the miracle cure, rightfully recognized as such by the public funders.

Oh, and don’t forget the new government-enforced business model of eternal repeated vaccination and associated “best before” date for all human beings, which appears to have been successfully established with only some mild whipping. So basically, there is nothing left to do except declare victory and pay off the debts – the former by the governments, the latter by their victims/subjects.

Julian

Reply to  rayc

But they are not declaring victory, as they could have done at many points. They are doubling down, spending more.

It’s now obvioulsy turned into a power grab, if it wasn’t right at the start.

Booked a 5 day trip to Jersey some weeks ago. Just been told by travel agent we will need a test on arrival. If positive we’ll have to isolate for 10 days even though we’re double jabbed. Cannot take this risk so looks like we’ll lose our money. Wish the travel firm had been upfront when we booked.

In fairness to the travel firms, they probably find it as diffcult as everyone else to keep track of what pointless “rules” are in place in each country this week, never mind what the case will be in a few weeks or months’ time!

I find it quite bizarre that anyone has this ridiculous app on their ‘phone. I never downloaded it as I have no intention of being tracked and traced by anyone. I don’t need telling when I’m unwell any more than I need telling to wrap up warm if it’s -10 or to drink water if I’m too hot or very thirsty.

It seems to me that if you have chosen not to be injected, then you will not have the ridiculous pinging app. Therefore, only the injected can be pinged. As most are now offloading this sinister tracking device I suspect the Government have decided to think of a different method in which to track us all. I suspect we will start to see face recognition cameras appearing in shopping centres, pubs, schools etc.
