Public Health Scotland Adds 85 Unvaccinated Deaths in a Week as it “Updates” its Reporting
Last week I reported on the latest data from Public Health Scotland (PHS), which showed that 87% of the deaths added in the most recent week (July 9th-15th) were in the vaccinated (one or two doses) and 74% were in the double vaccinated. I estimated from this that the vaccine effectiveness against death was a surprisingly low 46%, though acknowledged that this was a very crude estimate based only on one week’s data.
This week’s update is now out from PHS, and the data is surprising to say the least. Whereas in the week July 9th-15th, 38 deaths were added, only five of which were in the unvaccinated, just one of those aged over 70, in the week July 16th-22nd, 141 deaths were added, 85 of them in the unvaccinated, 78 of those aged over 70. This kind of change from one week to the next is obviously anomalous and presumably reflects some kind of reporting artefact.
Indeed, it turns out that PHS announced an update to their COVID-19 reporting on July 28th, which they said would be reflected in this week’s report and would include a “one off increase in reported deaths”.
This means we can discount the weekly change implied by this week’s report and resume our effort to deduce the vaccine effectiveness against death from next week.

Apparently you “can find details of how the improvements to their reporting” has taken place on the “notes tab” of the update page. I couldn’t find it on my mobile browser…
In other news “20% of those being admitted to hospital are now young people, higher than previous “waves””… Presumably because older people aren’t being admitted. Numbers are way down for all groups and the young are released a lot earlier. Apparently the virus is no real threat to the under 50s and a lot of the vulnerable have already died (amazingly you can only do that once, surprised Bozo hasn’t sorted that inconvenience for the stats), although you wouldn’t believe it from the scary reporting of death bed “anti-vax” recants.
The numbers overall are waaaay down. Amazingly a front page points this all out:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/08/05/statistics-showing-young-people-hospitalised-covid-not-quite/
The virus is no real threat to anyone, even the over 85s, unless they have multiple ‘co-morbidities’, or more than one other condition that is going to kill them anyway.
Always suspect their figures (and motives) when they switch from one metric (absolute numbers) to another (relative percentages).
It is rather strange how little information is being given about cases/hospitalisations/deaths by vaccine status and age.
You’d have thought that they’d be trumpeting this from the highest towers, given how the vaccines are surely saving gazillions from certain covid infection (22 million saved in the UK at last count, although I’m sure it is closer to 100 million by now)
Similarly, it is odd how they don’t provide decent information on vaccine side effects (eg, hospitalisation rates by broad category and vaccination status); you’d think that the authorities would be very keen to demonstrate that vaccine side effect rates are near zero.
Aren’t double-jabberwocks saved once a week, or twice on Sundays?
Sniff, sniff. Rats?
I’ve just read their explanation.
You’d have thought that they would have separated out the correction from the announced figures. That way it would be possible to keep track of the data.
As it stands we just don’t know if (for example) all of the increase in unvaccinated deaths actually dated from January, when few were vaccinated.
But it is odd how every time a source of potentially interesting data on vaccine performance emerges, that data is quashed by some reason or another — perhaps a statement that the data isn’t complete or is otherwise unreliable (the technical bulletin data) or an ‘update’ that mingles data such that analysis becomes impossible (this case).
It is almost as if the authorities are terrified that people will actually find out something about the vaccine performance and side effect data…
It’s obvious.
We haven’t seen a single question referencing the Yellow Card numbers in Parliament. Not one. Says it all.
Thing is -we have known for eighteen months that deaths attributed to “Covid” are as malleable as putty.
I think the main reason why hospital paeds and A and E departments are full of Covid and other respiratory viruses is actually down to the collapse of the 111/GP out of hours service in many areas of England. Any kid with a temperature is now sent to A and E to be seen and assessed. Prior to March 2020 they would be seen by the out of hours GP in a treatment centre. I suspect a lot of these are admitted for 24 hours by risk adverse and inexperienced juniors.
In Linton, Cambridge, where I used to live, people regularly went to A and E to get medical advice and/ or treatment because it was impossible to get a GP appointment. And that was years before the covvibollox.
There is a very interesting take on this Scottish “thing” over at The conservativetreehouse.com

Up here one would need to be comotose to get to see a Doctor. Our local health centre is like a deserted morgue
Much the same through much of us down South!
“Improvement to their reporting” is Newspeak for “Cooking the books.”
Stop complying. Stop moaning. Start fighting. Don’t ever wear masks. “Exempt”. I always insist (politely) on others removing their masks for me (Hard of hearing) – they have to by law. See what’s happening in Australia. It’s coming here soon if we don’t stop it now. Don’t ever stop using problematic stores, services or businesses. Use them more often! Any problems – Complain directly to the manager in person (maskless of course) – then send letters to head office – don’t give in to negativity. FIGHT. BACK. BETTER. It is called skewing the figures. Or “advanced book Keeping”
In Devon they call it jiggery pokery 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You guys crack me, so refreshing to see these brilliant comments thank you ! You’re all absolute Leg-Ends!
Not exactly relevant, but if I never see another photo of someone being injected, it would be fine!!
