Families Could Pay an Extra £400 a Year to Meet Net-Zero Target

Britain’s families face paying hundreds of pounds more a year on food, flying and shipping costs to meet the net-zero emissions target by 2050, according to a new report. MailOnline has more.

The poorest tenth of households will pay an extra £80 each year by 2050 while the richest tenth will face a £400 annual bill to help sectors that currently have a low chance of hitting the Net Zero emissions target by this date.

The National Infrastructure Commission said the UK needs an industry to store the gases to help meet its pledge on carbon emissions – and taxpayers will have to spend up to £400million in the next decade to fund this.

However the executive agency added that the biggest polluting industries such as agriculture, shipping and aviation should make a £2billion-a-year contribution from 2030 – even if these costs are passed onto households.

The suggestion issued in a report provoked fury among consumer groups amid mounting concerns over how much Boris Johnson’s Net Zero commitments will end up costing hard-working families in the long run.

Among the organisations concerned about the costs involved is the TaxPayers’ Alliance, whose chief executive John O’Connell told MailOnline today: “The net zero target must not see working taxpayers landed with the bill.

“With the highest tax levels in 70 years, family finances are already strained and they cannot be expected to pay more for food, goods and travel. Ministers must promise to protect Brits from any green cost hikes.”

We have to stop calling carbon dioxide “pollution”

Indeed. It accounts for 0.04% of the earth’s atmosphere but without it there would be no life.

The climate Scam is being tacked on to the C1984 scam but these are both covers for Agenda 2030 and the Reset.

Covid and Climate Change are all a part of the same scam.

C02 makes up 0.04% of the earth’s atmosphere and is vital to life. Our contribution to C02 is tiny.

Toby, i suspect that in reality by the time of 2050 these targets will easily be met because by then there will be far less people in the world.

Yes, our energy prices are already 40% higher due to renewables – with of course knock-on effects for every product we buy.

Has anyone seen the price of petrol and diesel. I don’t recall seeing them that high before, but no one’s saying anything.

Yes, appears to be the highest ever. I paid 129.7 p/l – about 4% more than two years ago. Of course, it slumped during the panic – it’s gone up by about 20% from last summer. Worth noting that they’re introducing E10 petrol now, so a net increase in energy prices, in effect (as the thermal content per litre is less than E5).

Here’s as good a place as any to post my comments on the photo of Greta getting the jab. Wearing a poxy face mask with little foxes on it. Little foxes. She was incredibly proud or some such to be getting the vaccine because “The Science”, and the tweet came with the obligatory woke hashtag of #vaccineinequiality, because covid, because carbon, because The Science. And, naturally, we had those smug beady eyes peering out over the little foxes. The caption of the photo should have read: “Everything wrong with the world in 2021 in one image”.

It’s the foxes I want to really comment on. Cute little insane fucked-up foxes so the mask is fashion, and not just one of your disposable stupid masks. Lovingly made with little foxes to adorn Greta’s insane face. Part of the theatre of the mask, the externalisation of the stupid, the signal that you can be safe and Sciencey and still have little stupid foxes on your mask, like a child would.

Zero covid, zero carbon, zero brains.

We have the Climate Change Committee ( CCC) advising the government on nutty policies to overcome the ffects of a trace gas in the atmosphere which would cost £trillions to enact. And then we have the National Infrastructure Committee ( NIC) advising the government how these schemes would cost a fortune.
of course the headline of this article is just plain wrong. It doesn’t take into account the estimated £50,000 per household to replace gas boilers and insulate your homes. Or the vastly increased costs of energy supply or the fact that the typical UK house would never heat up in the depths of winter using heat pumps however much insulation was used.
Of course, just like with SARS2/covid, its all based on computer models which for over 30 years have consistently been wildly wrong in forecasting future temperature increases. The best global indicator of temperatures is the UAH satellite record which currently has the increase over the last three decades as ZERO. But who uses facts anymore!

I wonder if they stopped to ever wonder why the temperature changes with pressure (you know that barometer thing) and if the amount of water vapour in the atmosphere was the true determinant of temperature (because being more atmosphere it can hold more energy at pressure despite being able to expand), and it’s self limiting as water vapour forms clouds that block the sun…

The modelling on which the claim that man has, by increasing CO2 (not carbon, please note) changed the Earth’s climate for the worse, is based, is no more reliable than Neil Ferguson’s ‘pandemic’ modelling. There is so much junk science that never gets questioned by politicians or the MSM or by the public for that matter. Instead the politicians et al are content to remain proudly ignorant of even basic science, preferring to leave their thinking to the ‘experts’ who very often expert at nothing but self promotion. The first person I ever heard use the phrase ‘The Science’ was a friend of mine whom I’ve known since we were at school together – he is or was, a leading climate modeller, very left wing, anti-Trump and staunch defender of Fauci. Needless to say, after I called Fauci’s honesty into question, my friend ended our friendship of over 50 years. He told me he would never separate his politics from his science, and you know, I believe him.

Carbon Dioxide is THE most green of gases, it’s the food source of the Green chemical Chlorophyll.

Of course the totally upside down verse makes plant-food a pollutant.

Carbon dioxide, the molecule, not carbon the atom, but otherwise correct.

It’s an utterly pointless scam that’s probably counterproductive too.
Carbon dioxide is not a main driver of climate. Do the climate change lobby seriously think they can stop the climate changing? It’s always changing, and always will. Carbon is the basic building block of life.

When will everyone realise that CO2 is NOT the devil? Pollution clearly needs reducing massively, but this fixation on a carbon neutral target is as insane as Co-vid lockdowns. It would be so refreshing if world leaders, their advisors and the mass media would actually take a step back and seriously think ( for once!). Where do environmentalists think electricity comes from? How are the components for electric cars and their batteries produced? Carbon dioxide nourishes plants. If the tree hugging vegans could only understand that, then they may stand a ( slightly) better chance of converting more of us to eating more veggies. Meantime, depopulation will probably solve the “green issue” on its own. The Davos set will be delighted.

From my most recent gas/electricity bill:
1 unit of electricity (1kWh) costs 16.1p
1 unit of gas (1kWh) costs 2.697p
i.e. electricity is SIX TIMES more expensive!

What planet do these lunatics inhabit? They are cretans.
