Lockdown Blues
(The W.H. Auden Variant)

by Peter Mills

Turn off the box; don’t fiddle with your phone,
Stop the child from dancing; leave her all alone,
Shut down the night clubs and with muffled clatter,
Bang on pots and kettles to forget the ones who matter.

The jet overhead makes no noise, just vapour,
Writes in the sky as if it were paper,
You’ve lost your freedom; you know they’re lying,
Let the masks cover up what we know; we are dying.

Alpha, then Beta, the Delta, the Plus,
Stay home, work from home, making fools of us,
Unwittingly, gullibly, we all played along,
I thought it couldn’t last forever; I was wrong.

The stages are not wanted now; close down every one,
Pack up the beach and dismantle the sun,
Flush away the beer and do without the food,
For nothing now can come to any good.

Semantically a bit unclear, but I like it.

If you’d like a little synth pop with your poetry, check out Tinderella’s Lockdown Blues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GquQmT8UnCc How can one work at home? All the neighbours mowing the lawn Wearing onesies in the street, could they not be more discreet? Bonfires ‘cos the tip is shut, illegal dumping on the up Empty buses run on time, sunbathing is a crime Lockdown blues. Cancelled cruise. Don’t need shoes. Turned to booze. Wait in line for something to eat, toilet roll is a treat Big clap on a Thursday night, gives the cats and dogs a fright Police say don’t exercise, stay at home and eat more pies Ironing can be fun, you get arthritis if you run Lockdown blues. Endless queues. Blown a fuse. Need a snooze. Rainbows in the window pane, peer outside, sunshine again Hopscotch chalk on empty pavements, make your own entertainment Wash your hands, change your plans, do not visit foreign lands Give assistance, keep your distance, what’s the meaning of existence? Lockdown blues. Human zoos. Losing my screws. Contemplating tattoos. Hibernation, vegetation, antisocial isolation Would you like to join my bubble? Be nearby or be in trouble Walk the dog around the park, only if it’s after… Read more »

On a more serious note, Will Jones’ “Summary of Adverse Events in the U.K.” of the MHRA Yellow Card data for Covid-19 “vaccines” is truly alarming. Look at the numbers for Spontaneous Abortions.
https://staging.dailysceptic.org/2021/07/20/vaccine-safety-update-9/
As MikeAustin comments: “Recorded deaths are those that have already occurred a short while after the jab. Serious adverse reactions that will be fatal are not followed up and added to the totals. If we look at Dr Tess Lawrie’s report, she categorises adverse reactions by seriousness. Maybe there could be some estimate of eventual fatalities based on this.”
https://www.covidmedicalnetwork.com/open-letters/Tess-Lawrie-Report-to-MHRA.pdf
Page 7:
“The MHRA now has more than enough evidence on the Yellow Card system to declare the COVID-19 vaccines unsafe for use in humans.”
I believe that the only way to destroy the entire: virus suppression > lockdown > vaccines > vaccine passports; narrative is to widely disseminate precisely this:
“The COVID-19 vaccines are unsafe for use in humans.”
Please send this information to your MP and investigative journalists.

Too depressing! What we need is some fighting spirit not defeatism!

Exactly! Just what we need, some more pessimism, as if there isn’t enough of that emanating from the government already.

Agree. It did give me goosebumps as much as the original made me cry. But that was after my first feeling today reading through the stories reported here which was one of just how much this whole thing has become so absurdly farcical to the point I almost wanted to laugh out loud. And that gave me hope! Because through farce people see the truth and the whole sh.t show is bound to come crashing down around its own ears.

I sort-of agree with this. OTOH (using a dichotomy stolen from Tim Martin) it counteracts the impression that “pubgoers” are all reckless ne’er-do-well who care for nothing but their own intoxication certainly “discussed” during many an illegal dinner party during “strict lockdown”.

Corollary: The reason why these people are so much in favour restrictions is that they were always restrictions for others. It’s not just panic-stricken Dominic Coward fleeing Londen (I bet he never even dared to lock back all of the way) to hide with his parents and the erotic escapdes of the Messieurs Ferguson and Hancock or the G7 barbecue party: All of these people have been donning masks whenever somebody else could see them. And have been breaking all these silly rules left, right and center during all of the other time.

Isn’t it time we got really angry? Watch Dr Daved Martin on Rumble with Stew Peters.
The title is Patented Genocide. You won’t feel the same after watching this.

She needs a memorial on the vacant plinth in Trafalgar Square as a warning to us all, hideous avoidable tragedy.

How absolutely terrible. The politicians should hang for these crimes.
