The Daily Sceptic
The name of this website is about to change from Lockdown Sceptics to the Daily Sceptic. I intended this change to coincide with the bonfire of the coronavirus restrictions – the long-awaited terminus – but ‘Freedom Day’ has turned out to be a damp squib. Not only have many of the restrictions remained in place, but it’s been made clear by Chris Whitty and others that any freedoms we’ve been granted today will be snatched away as soon as the NHS comes under pressure again.
I always imagined I’d retire Lockdown Sceptics one day – turn it into an archive that would serve as a record of a dark period in our history – but after almost 16 months of continuous activity, it has developed in ways I hadn’t anticipated. I don’t just mean it averages 1.5 million page views a month and has almost 15,000 email subscribers, as well as a staff of seven. It has also attracted a community of regular contributors and commentators, either above the line, below the line, or in the forums, as well as a team of tireless moderators. Together, we’ve created a kind of intellectual home for tens of thousands of people, and I get regular emails from people all over the world telling me that if it wasn’t for Lockdown Sceptics they would have gone mad.
So instead of shutting down the site, I’ve decided to turn it into the Daily Sceptic. All of the original content we published will still be there, organised under the headings you can see on the right-hand vertical, and the focus will be on the lockdowns and associated restrictions for the time being. But the subject matter will be a bit broader. I wanted to create something more permanent, something that wasn’t contingent on lockdowns continuing forever, but which was imbued with the same irreverent, antic spirit as the original site, and the same rigorous, analytical approach.
So the Daily Sceptic will include sceptical articles by disaffected journalists and academics – including citizen journalists and independent scholars – about a range of public policies that are supposedly based on science or data or evidence, where ‘the Science’ is being invoked as a source of unassailable authority, but which often appear to be rooted in a covert political agenda. The idea is to challenge the new powerful class of government scientists and public health officials – as well as their colleagues in universities, grant-giving trusts, large international charities, Silicon Valley and the pharmaceutical industry – that have emerged as a kind of secular priesthood during the pandemic. And to challenge them on their own terms, much like the group of citizen journalists who successfully rehabilitated the ‘lab leak’ hypothesis after it had been designated a ‘conspiracy theory’ in the pages of the Lancet. (Scientific and medical journals will also be in our sights.)
The temptation when debunking ‘the Science’ behind these policies is to see sinister cabals at work, bent on some secret plot to subvert democratic institutions and usher in a New World Order in which they control every aspect of our lives. But as someone who’s earned his living as a journalist for over 35 years, occasionally with a front row seat on the inner workings of government, I’m a subscriber to the cock-up theory of history. I see a great deal of vanity and hubris in the state’s mismanagement of this crisis, but not much planning or conspiring. I don’t doubt that plenty of clever, successful people in the Government’s orbit have seized upon opportunities during the past 16 months, enriching themselves or consolidating their power and status in some other way, and a fair few are now doing what they can to keep the gravy train on the road. But that’s a far cry from the ‘Plandemic’. History can in rare circumstances be bent to the will of an extraordinary individual, but it is never planned. Societies ‘reset’ themselves all the time, but not in a way that’s ‘great’ if by that is meant ‘permanent’, and I doubt even Klaus Schwab really believes that. He’s just a carnival barker standing outside a tent called ‘Davos’ and we shouldn’t take his flimflam too seriously.
I know some readers will disagree and I look forward to seeing that debate play out in the pages of the Daily Sceptic, much like it did in Lockdown Sceptics. I’m a free speech zealot. In February 2020, a couple of months before I created Lockdown Sceptics, I helped set up the Free Speech Union, a non-partisan, mass membership public interest body that stands up for the speech rights of its members and campaigns for free speech more widely. The timing was perfect since one of the hallmarks of the coronavirus crisis has been the suppression of dissenting voices within the scientific and public health communities – the creep of cancel culture into the hard sciences. That process was already underway, as any doctor who dissents from trans orthodoxy can tell you, but the pandemic acted like an accelerant. The Daily Sceptic, like Lockdown Sceptics, will campaign against this new climate of Maoist intolerance that is sweeping through our most important institutions and companies – and that includes taking the Mickey out of woke gobbledegook. Scientific censorship is a deadly serious business, but the way to take down the would-be Torquemadas is often to aim at the funny bone.
I hope you enjoy the new site. Do keep the contributions coming, both above and below the line. (Our email address remains the same.) And if you appreciate what we do, please help us keep the wolf from the door by making a donation. The Daily Sceptic, like Lockdown Sceptics, will be a labour of love, and the staff of seven is now a staff of five: me, Ian Rons, Will Jones, Noah Carl and Michael Curzon. But we also have wives and girlfriends and mortgages and families, and every little helps.
If you’re a subscriber to the daily email newsletter, you’ll still receive it but we are going to start sending it out from a new domain – DailySceptic.org – from tomorrow. So if you suddenly stop getting it, check your spam folder and if it’s in there move it to your inbox. After that, it should go straight to your inbox.
If you’re a below-the-line contributor, or someone who participates in the Forums, you’ll still be able to do that, but the site change means you’ll be logged out and you’ll need your username or password to log back in again. If you can’t remember them, just use the reset facility, although you’ll need to know one of them to reset the other. If you can’t remember either, email Ian Rons on lockdownsceptics@castironsolutions.co.uk.
The data we use to send out the daily email newsletter is owned by Lockdown Sceptics and we are transferring it to Skeptics Ltd, a company we’ve set up to publish the Daily Sceptic. We won’t be passing on this data to anyone else, but if you object to this transfer then please contact Ian Rons, our Data Protection Officer, at lockdownsceptics@castironsolutions.co.uk, within the next seven days and we’ll delete your data from our database.
To join in with the discussion please make a donation to The Daily Sceptic.
Profanity and abuse will be removed and may lead to a permanent ban.
Well, I joined the Free Speech Union before this shambles started, and, whatever else you can say, Toby has undeniably remained true to the spirit of free speech on this site, and given so many of us plenty of food for thought and the opportunity to express a broad range of views (and whenever I see comments downticked, I always hope that they will continue contributing as I genuinely want to hear a broad range of views). I have just made another donation, partly because I am furious about the continuation of restrictions and coercion arguably amounting to human rights abuses beyond the supposed “freedom day” – about which this site gives us the information to make informed choices – and partly because it is clear such a resource is going to be needed for some time to come and will need funding to be effective. I hope others do the same, and I thank Toby for making all this possible, and indeed all who contribute in any way, and hope all will continue to follow the rebranded site.
Bravo 👏🏻 I agree ☝🏻

“Toby has undeniably remained true to the spirit of free speech on this site“
Yes, I judge these things by whether I get censored personally, as I have been censored or banned from most mainstream media forums over the years, and I don’t think it has happened here yet, as far as I can recall.
I thank you for your heartfelt appraisal and I wholeheartedly agree.
Thank you Toby also because without the Holy Trinity of Lockdown Sceptics, The Conservative Woman and UK Column I would definitely have lost it.
Best of luck with the revamp. I remain as committed as ever to the now Daily Sceptic.
All the best.
Yes 🙌🏻. Toby knows where the truth lies and how to navigate the path to it. JD gives him the fuel to keep going and we need to support them to that end.
Good luck to Toby and the team going forward and thank you for your tremendous efforts to date.
‘I see a great deal of vanity and hubris in the state’s mismanagement of this crisis, but not much planning or conspiring’
That was the view I chose to take for a while, mainly because the alternatives were too horrible to accept.
As events have progressed the alternatives seem to be more likely:
The sheer volume of what appeared to be idiocy and inconsistency has been a major factor in creating fear, uncertainty and doubt. Much of it now seems more likely to have been deliberate.
The entirely predictable dire consequences of some of the measures taken have been completely disregarded, indicating a cold blooded psychopathic force at work.
The concurrent messaging and legislating across multiple platforms and states suggests a higher power pulling the strings.
You could certainly make a good case for it. Eventually, I might get round to finishing reading “A State Of Fear” and “Endgame” – books I’ve heard about thanks to this site among many, many other things – and be in a better position to make up my mind.
I am certain that there is a world wide “capture” going on – the lockstep actions across the globe are staggering and I am extremely grateful that Toby and his team have reported on so many excellent topics. Their work and the comments stream have kept me going.
At times the diabolical nature of events is overwhelming but the standard of satire and humour displayed by commentators is a often a joy to behold!
Holding a Daily Sceptical position will be an absolute pleasure and delight!
Donation on it’s way.
*Long-ish post, hope it helps all those interested in the subject matter, as well as those just dipping their toe in the pond of the counter-narratives* Fair play on the opinion of the editor regarding whether one views our shared plight as gross incompetence on the part of Governments and public health bodies; as opposed to something more sinister, calculating and intentional. Personally, having researched into the varying aspects of the creeping authoritarianism across the bio-security paradigm, the military-industrial complex, the great reset, the hostile takeover of the global food supply, the eugenicist revival now called transhumanism, and the serfdom that comes with central bank digital currencies, universal basic income, and the removal of privacy and anonymity from both the online and offline world – I am firmly of the mind that this is absolutely, convincingly, a global coordinated plot to subvert humanity to heel and become enslaved in a new form of so-called neo-feudalism. Let’s face it, since 2020 the difference between a ‘conspiracy theory’ and the truth is 6 months as far as mainstream media and Governmental admission, acknowledgement and implementation of actual policy goes. I shall briefly summarise the most pertinent points of the aforementioned multiple facets… Read more »
Totally agree. The reason the UK Government may look like a shambles is because the takeover by the Globalists has suddenly hit our civil service with a shock. They are used to dealing with Brussels and doing exactly what they are told without question. Now they are involved as an independent country in the wheeling and dealing of those big bankers, big pharma and big tech. They didn’t get the danger or the sinister road of travel and now they do.
Some very greedy and narcissistic politicians like Johnson, Gove and Javid are playing foe high staked. Some very stupid politicians like Hancock, JRM, Baker have been caught with their pants down ( no pun intended) as they now struggle with the poor decision making and dereliction of duty to their constituents.
‘I am firmly of the mind that this is absolutely, convincingly, a global coordinated plot to subvert humanity to heel and become enslaved in a new form of so-called neo-feudalism’.
I’m with you on this one. Initially, it seems too outrageous to be true. But the more you dig, the more it appears to be the case. Reiner Fuellmich brings out about the Davos clique having stolen the pension funds etc and Europe being broke, though that is just one layer of the Plandemic. Meanwhile, the shambolic to-ing and fro-ing of the government is not, imo, a result of poor leadership but is purposeful to confuse and disorientate the public.
I am well-versed with your first point, Mr Human; not so much with the second regarding Christian Westbrook, so that shall be my next bit of research. Thanks! In fact, thanks to everyone who has commented on this site over these crazy, surreal months as you have all been an endless source of knowledge, humour and comfort. Likewise, Toby and staff. You have kept many of us sane. (Just!)
The craziest thing about the second point, as you’ll see pointed out on iceagefarmer time and again, is how a narrative of animals being dirty and dangerous is being pushed out. Coupled with massive meat & poultry producing factories experiencing “cyber attacks”, screwing up their just-in-time feedstock-to-livestock model. I.e. only enough animal feed for the animals to be sustained up until slaughter. Now livestock being culled because animal feed cannot be obtained in time. Christian argues a narrative of “well we can only have enough (soy beans, grains) to feed either the animals or the humans, so you choose” – is fully coming into view. All links into the insanity drive of green bonds, carbon credits and generally reducing everyone’s standard of living, nutrition sources and ability to be self sufficient to an impasse. “Herding” people into smart cities from the countryside seems to be a key goal of the psychopaths too. Good luck researching and hope you can share with others who are open minded enough not to scoff at it – we know how insane it all sounds without context, because it is insane, it is supposed to have such shock value as to a preposterous diabolical plot… Read more »
Thank you so much for your wonderful post!! But isn’t transhumanism more than just a eugenicist revival? Isn’t it a complete transformation of human beings into half robots (for want of a better way to describe it)?
You are correct BertieFox. There is a black and white document from the Canadian Government by a think tank called ‘Policy Horizons’. They (advocating for transhumanism as something desirable and inevitable!) summise as follows:
“Three ways biodigital convergence is emerging,” namely:
The literal augmentation of humans under the auspices of public health and longevity of life. In reality, turn humans into subservient drone automatons whom are compliant and content to enjoy their servitude. James Corbett articulates it all much better than I can here:
https://www.minds.com/CorbettReport/blog/biodigital-convergence-bombshell-document-reveals-the-true-a-1240670804018147328
Excellent- Thank you
Thanks a bunch. I was just checking out the news round-up when it vanished and was replaced by this.
What a contribution to freedom and enlightenment. FFS.
I found it on a news round up calendar where clicking today’s date showed the news round up.
On my mobile, it involved scrolling right down to the bottom of the home page.
Good luck!
I’m glad it has been recognised that lockdown has not ended and that the campaign must continue.
I also agree it’s useful to see it in a broader context. Hopefully that won’t prove to be too divisive.
I found the daily news digest useful, hope that returns.
The news digest it still there, if you click on the headline sceptics banner or the daily updates flag the whole list of articles will be shown including the news up-date. I get the update sent to me by email and the news update was there this morning as normal.
Well it’s gone now.
Just checked there is a news round-up showing from 7;30p.m. last night (18th) that is the latest one I think?
Good!
I look forward to getting stuck into the fake-news on climate change and the whole Zero Carbon scam!
That’s just ‘a coincidence, ministers are doing their best and have only our best intentions at heart’.
All things must change, we adapt or die!
Thank you Toby et Al, excited to see the new site evolve and grow, it is badly needed. With blatant censorship of “other” voices in the MSM, the complete annihilation of dissent within politics and science, the one size fits all approach to public health, the scary words coming from Macron in France, we need the Daily Sceptic now more than ever.
Thanks Toby, Ian, Will, Noah and Michael for standing by your convictions, devoting your time and energy to this cause, and for giving sceptic voices a place to be heard.
Well said, with a news sheet for ‘sceptics’ it is always going to be hard to please all the people all the time but this site does point to a huge amount of pertinent information in a way that it is hard to find anywhere else, glad to see it continuing in this format.
I totally second that. This has been the one site which has been able to let people truly speak their minds and let off steam. A change of direction, to cover so many other areas of scepticism is needed now as we move through this awakening and ask the questions just not being addressed by our failed MSM. Thank you so much Toby and the team for keeping us sane, and questioning the narrative. It has literally been a lifeline.
When trying to bring people “across” to lockdown scepticism, I always try to discuss the inconsistencies and illogicality of this lunacy. Pointing to stupidity, refusal to consider other options, unable to admit errors, power play etc. being behind the “policies” adopted. Any mention of “The great reset” or ” New world order” immediately closes the conversation down. I suppose I am standing in the middle ground- absolutely appalled at the totalitarianism but not quite ready to accept the idea of a planned, evil intention to control the world. It’s a very big step to take into the darkness, letting go of the “certainties” and the “normals” I’ve believed in during my happy and comfortable life. I haven’t taken that step yet- but I have been toe-tapping to see what the new ground on the other side feels like. When threatened or scared (both by their own governments) people will still cling to the security blanket of the state, society and their community- having to consider that the security blanket is absolutely useless and part of the problem anyway, is just too frightening an idea for many. So when trying to get our ideas across, be kind and not brutal. Plant… Read more »
Well said.
Well that was hard work, getting logged back in. Maybe it’s just me, but the system seems to take several goes to recognise me.
I agree wholeheartedly with what you write above. We are lucky as we have always known we are right, and have had 16 months or more to recognise the insanity around us. Imagine how hard it must be to recognise you have been duped, and to admit it, and then do something about it.
But every day I see more and more people join our ranks.
Actually login here took under a minute – but I did have my old LS ones nicely saved away.
Not sure what to make of the changes, time will tell. Whatever we are called we must keep going in our ever constant quest to restore normality. Keep up the work Toby, whatever you want to call us.
What you are describing is being “purple pilled.”
Here you have swallowed the red pill but the blue pill hasn’t quite left your system. I don’t blame you for being in that state, many people are, but I don’t think it’s a stable state. Eventually you are likely to slip back to blue or into the red pilled state. One state offers peace and harmony with the NWO, the other offers pain, trauma, isolation and …truth.
I wish you the best on your journey.
that’s a good description.
KEEP THE FAITH.
Neil would love to hear from you!

Thanks Toby and the team. It was a lifeline for me – a left-leaning middle-aged lady who’d never really posted on the interweb before the lockdown. I will be framing my three posts for posterity btw 🙂 Seriously, though, a huge thank you. I genuinely believe this site will be one of the most important reference points for historians in the future.
Agreed 🙂
You won’t have access to this site once they’ve tracked you down at your keyboard, and carted you off to the new prison.
In Wellingborough They Can’t Hear You Scream.
Yes, but we will have lovely views of the river!
Go Toby et al and thank you!
Very good. We desperately need independent news and opinion sources. The team here and especially Toby have done absolutely sterling work through the lockdown, and I hope they will continue in the same spirit. Best of luck for the future! “I’m a free speech zealot. In February 2020, a couple of months before I created Lockdown Sceptics, I helped set up the Free Speech Union, a non-partisan, mass membership public interest body that stands up for the speech rights of its members and campaigns for free speech more widely. The timing was perfect” Toby is (imo) a reasonably genuine free speech advocate, for sure, and given his excellent work with the FSU (of which I have been a member since quite early on, though I’m not usually a joiner), arguably the single most effective such around atm. I’m not sure I’d go so far as accepting him as a free speech zealot, however. I am one, and my impression is he will go so far in pushing freedom of speech, but baulks at crossing the line too far into full consistency (perhaps because he is a realist in terms of what can be achieved). The final test imo on freedom of speech… Read more »
Thank you Toby and the team for Lockdown Sceptics and now the Daily Sceptic. I am definitely in the “it’s helped keep me sane” camp and I look forward to the broadening of the debate/s into other issues for which it appears the Elite/MSM have decided there will be only one opinion allowed and dissent will be silenced – climate change being the most obvious example.
I waver between the conspiracy and cock-up theories, but am tending towards conspiracy now. The lunacy is virtually global and “our leaders” are coordinating their policies and rhetoric; if not conspiracy it has become what the EU call “a very useful crisis” and is being exploited to the max by powerful, vested interests.
They must be called out and held to account – and this site is certainly helping to do that. A (small, I’m afraid) donation will come at the end of the month when I get paid.
I do remember when this all began last year. I know I felt at my wits end for a while, wondering how my opinions and thoughts could be so far away from everyone else’s. I was at least lucky in that there were a few, a very few, family and friends who agreed. Then I discovered Lockdown Sceptics, and truly it was, at the time, a lifesaver. For months I read the articles and the views from the forum. I didn’t contribute my own opinions back then, but it definitely kept me going. Now I can’t imagine not having found the site, I don’t think there is any chance I would have been as informed about the ‘opposite’ views, the different scientists and information, if not for LS. I will always be truly grateful to Toby and the team and to the many who contribute to the forum, and I look forward to the next bit of the journey. We don’t have to agree on why or how we got here, or even why or how we get out of it, or live with it. We just have to agree to have a some common purpose, which I think most… Read more »
Thank you Toby for keeping this going. I have not always been in agreement with you as I do believe you could have used your platform and influence much more strongly. However, no one can take away from you, the solidity of information and the provision of a successful range of discussions, debates and ideas this forum has provided. Well done.
There is no “government”, there are only peons at the service of the Medical Industrial Complex, whose CEOs and owners occupy key positions in media, the Military Industrial Complex, who control the whole machine, and the billions of dollars and marketing and lobbying that underlie all decisions.
Our governments are a farce, that should be the biggest item addressed by a skeptic site!
Great move Toby. We need an information outlet moving forward. Personally I’ve lost the will to live regarding lockdown, the sheep don’t listen and deserve everything that’s coming their way. I think this weekend was quite illuminating, the MSM made quite a fuss of the mask less droves who had headed to the Grand Prix/cricket/beaches but the BTL comments were 99% supportive. Let’s hope that even the most sheep-like will eventually awake from their torpor and see the light, before it’s too late……
Re ‘the masks’ – a friend has told me that when I go to see her next week if she picks me up in her car I will have to wear a mask. I refused point blank – she knows my feelings on the coronacrap but still insists on following ‘the rules’
I find this astounding as she was a highly respected GP who usually researches things in depth but has been swayed by her also highly educated engineer daughter who believes in all the crap.
I and alot of my friends have been to the university of life who can see through all of this crap and just want a return to the ‘old normality’ NOT the ‘new normal’
I keep trying to get her to look at this site and will continue to do so in the forlorn hope that she will make the leap into sanity.
My son in year 9 in secondary school has been asked not to come in today because of COVID. How this is a reasonable reaction considering: Only 38 people under 20 have died with (not necessarily from) COVID over the 15 months it has been in the UK (source: ONS) A year (2021) in which (based on the age and population of the country) fewer people have died than the average for years 2010-2019 (source: Institute of Actuaries) A report from the government’s chief scientist (Patrick Vallance) predicting a more than doubling of flu deaths to as high as 60,000 due to the lockdowns he has supported and promoted An ‘excess’ death rate from the beginning of the pandemic until the end of 2020 (Institute of Actuaries) the same as for a bad winter (2017/18 per ONS) Over 95% of the vulnerable population (over 50s) have been vaccinated – only 2,980 under 50s have died with (not necessarily from)COVID over the 15 months it has been in the UK (source: ONS) Even in the most vulnerable age group (80+) the death rate was 15.0% in 2018, 14.4% in 2019 and 15.9% in 2020. Sweden which famously avoided lockdowns had a virtually… Read more »
Well I think we all know it’s not reasonable. But very little over the past 16 months has been reasonable. Or truthful for that matter.
Had they tested everyone at the same PCR cycle in July 2019 they would have found the similar amounts of coronaviruses in circulation
The weird thing is, I actually agree with Klaus Schwab et al that the world is overpopulated. There ARE too many people. I am sure a lot of us feel like this, and that the world is unlikely to be enhanced by doubling the number of humans on earth.
HOWEVER….it’s pretty clear once women are educated and emancipated, very few decide to have heaps of children. Some developed societies already have less than the replacement level, and others will follow. Peak humanity will likely happen within the next few decades. So there is no need for a mass cull through shonky “vaccines”.
The problem is that the entire capitalist system is predicated on growth. And you cannot get universal economic growth in a population that is in decline. Also pensions don’t work, given that they are a Ponzi scheme. Is this what the Great Reset is? Taking us down to a lower base level from which growth is possible again? Seems extreme. Why would that be so much better than a stagnation or slow decline?
I am having aimless wonderings this morning.
Having these aimless wondering too. Bozo and Grease-Mug are supposedly educated yet feel a compunction to sow their seed many times in excess of natural replacement. Ok for a certain class of person to have many offspring but not others then…
Not completely aimless. Not enough is ever made of replacement levels and developed countries. As an extreme counterpoint to the over population worriers, there are doom laden models, that suggest rapid population collapse by late century, once more countries fall below replacement level.
Mousetopia before our eyes, I wish I was born 100 years ago.
Sophie, pardon the informality, I normally enjoy reading your posts but agreeing with Schwab the Nazi seems out of character. I feel let down.
The best response is this – read Michael Schellenberg’s book “Apocalypse Never.” This book knocks all the global warming / overpopulation crap in to the dustbin.
The planet currently produces way more food than populations require. It is simply poorly distributed.
Anthropogenic Global Warming? Utter scam.
Anyway, all the best.
But I don’t want to kill anyone! I just don’t like crowds. And populations will diminish anyway, so I don’t think overpopulation is going to happen (even if it were a thing). I’ll seek out the book.
On the subject of Vallance, what is the chap’s problem.
His own report says there are going to be more flu deaths this year because of his lockdowns.
So you’d think at least now he’d try to stop them.
But no, he doubles down on his bad bet – how many deaths is he going to predict next year after another lockdown this winter.
How much destruction of life and living is enough for him ? How many people killed by lockdowns is too many ?
I don’t know. I think his mind has imploded and got tangled in a mess of its own making.
Well done Toby et al for providing a site of sanity in amongst the idiocy of the worlds msm.
I would like to this to all the comments about Florida, Texas and South Dakota.
I was talking to my friend in Alaska yesterday and there they do not have any restrictions at all and haven’t had any for a long time. Masks etc were imposed in Anchorage but the locals got so fed up of it all that they all rebelled en-mass and ignored all the restrictions. As my friend said the police cannot go after, fine and imprison hundreds of thousands of people at the same time so there is now a sense of normality about the place.
If only that would happen here!!!
Toby Young’s observations on cock-up vs conspiracy are particularly wise.
Conspiracy indicates that the conspirators know what is going on and have sufficient fore-knowledge to manipulate events to their advantage. As Toby Young indicates, this is never actually the case. There are individuals or groups who are sufficiently motivated and connected to take advantage of any particular tide in history, but that is not the same thing as creating the tide in the first place.
With our present Government, what has been striking is the serious lack of scientific or technological literacy amongst our political leaders, or the Civil Servants advising them. This has been laid open most strikingly in the complete lack of a coherent policy with regard to the Covid lockdown, but is more worryingly apparent in the arbitrary policies on banning gas boilers and petrol/diesel vehicles without any regard to the consequences what they are proposing. These are serious cock-ups that will cost us all dearly.
What exactly do you think our leaders, the head of major corporations, the richest and most powerful people on the planet do when they meet in Davos, or at the G7 or whatever other expensive forum?
These guys know what they are up to. They are scared of the alternative and they want to keep their power. They worship the new ideology of sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusivity, in other words the alliance of the bureaucratic elite and the corporate power brokers.
Its an open conspiracy now, so I’m not sure why we pretend otherwise.
Build Back Better…..
What are you smoking?
Thank you Toby and team for providing us with a much needed daily dose of common sense. You, along with Planet Normal are now my go-to sources of information. I never thought I’d ditch the beeb and the Today programme for news but how can I trust them when they’re censored up to the eyeballs and relentlessly churning out the same old propaganda? Keep up your fantastic work and much looking forward to The Daily Sceptic.
The Daily Sceptic is much needed.
I have just watched Dr Clare Craig on GB News make a considered argument in favour of freedom from any further covid related government non pharmaceutical interventions…..
Followed by an academic who, rather than addressing her sensible comments, suggested that GB News ask her who her employers are next time she is on.
A enormous number of academics, medical professionals, are all now just beginning to look a bit like the professor who declared ‘The Hitler Diaries’ to be genuine….and they are very, very, scared…….so it may be nasty now but it’s going to get even nastier……
The Daily Sceptic is going to be very busy.
All the best with the re-branded work. Thank Heavens for such independent journalism such as that displayed by Toby Young. We must also remember to visit the Planet Normal podcast(Alison Pearson & Liam Halligan), listen to Talk Rade, and read Spiked and the Conservative Woman, amongst others.
Here’s long life to the Daily Sceptic!!
Spiked has and is a disaster.
Brendan O’Neill’s recent piece supporting enforced “vaccines” for care workers was almost out of the fascists hymn book.
Spiked have been monumentally piss poor on the C1984 scam and their depth of understanding would discredit a fourteen year old.
Anyway, I concluded enough was enough and cancelled my subscription.
It will be redirected.
Well done, thank you for all that you and your team have done over the past 16 months. Its great to hear that you are launching a proper newspaper on line which will hopefully continue to bring stories and challenge, and not be part of the Government of the day propaganda tool kit. I look forward to reading it every day,
Good name for a new daily (print) newspaper.
Considering I’ve been here daily since about day 5 I hope I get a discount on the (inevitable?) subscription..
Why not?
I read the article overview page, read every comment and then if I need something clarified very occasionally read ‘in full’ the main article, then back to the comments. Considering the DT is behind a paywall I mostly just read the comments for free. They seem to offer more in the way of education, alternative points of view, critical thinking and analysis.
I should be paying most of you.
DT has a deal at the moment – £4 for three months. worth it IMO
I had their £1 offer in March last year, seemed at the time it would cover the ‘pandemic’ – honestly I don’t care for their reporting much not £7 a month much), I just like the comments, remind me mostly I’m sane (although they could do more to remove the obvious trolls who derail almost any sceptical thread with strawmen and ad hominem attacks.
I pay a subscription now and am more than happy to do so. I wish I could pay more.
There is nothing of quality in this world for free – even our landscape. It all has a price.
Thank you Daily Sceptic. With you.
Where does opportunism end and conspiratorial behaviour begin? And does it matter that much?
Did the Nazi leaders conspire to exterminate the Jews? Was it their plan in 1933? Would they have liked to even then but didn’t think they could get away with it until much later? if it was their plan all along, was it secret? Or was it pretty much in the open if anyone took the trouble to listen?
Would someone in 1935 warning that the Nazi’s intended on exterminating all Jews been mocked as a conspiracy theorist? Were those claiming it in 1942 taken seriously?
What I do know is that many of us have been warning about vaccine passports and health apartheid from day 1 of this madness. And last week Macron announced that is exactly what is planned in France. Some have gone further and warned of a genocide against the unvaccinated. Can we really dismiss such warnings so lightly as crazy conspiracy theories?
The Daily Sceptic has its work cut out.
My sentiments exactly.
I keep wondering when the penny will drop for our optimistic colleagues in the “it’s all a terrible accident” camp.
Mein Kampf stated the intentions of Hitler.
Covid 19; The Great Reset, by Karl Schwab
states their intentions…..
I have not read it. I’m not sure I want to.
But who does he want to kill off? what sort of people? If the means is vaccination, in the UK its highest toll will be in the white, educated middle class population – skewed to the middle aged plus category. FT readers seem particularly in favour of vaccines (as are all my colleagues and contacts in the drug industry and financial services sectors).
The least vaccinated are ethnic minorities and the young.
Do they want to kill off those most likely to offer them resistance? I don’t want to stereotype, but stereotypes often have some basis in fact….if the people left are skewed young and black and disenfranchised….have they not noticed that belligerent gangs are included this group? My fellow mask free people on the tube are usually black young men with a “don’t mess with me” attitude, for example. Some of these people probably have access to illegal firearms. And I will happily join their ranks, if the worst comes to pass. The Schwabs will be overthrown in minutes.
At this point I don’t agree with those who think the injections are meant to kill people, yet.
The first order of business is to train the populace to manipulate their bodies through state dictat. Also the aim is to register every living human onto a digital database so that they can be controlled and monitored as well as given a unique currency allocation controlled by the state. With no free currency, no free travel, no free control over your body, they will have achieved totalitarian maximum.
If they chose to then deliver killshot vaccines or to prevent certain people from procreating, it will be very easy.
Of course the more of us who don’t sign up the more difficult it is for them to roll out. How they choose to deal with us is a big question.
Almost everything we dread has been either advocated or suggest in some way by someone.
Where does opportunism end and conspiracy begin?
