Wembley Will Still Have Euros Crowds of at Least 22,500 But Fan Zones In Doubt

Wembley stadium will still let in 22,500 fans even if Freedom Day is delayed, but pubs will struggle if they’re not allowed to open for the entirety of the Euros. MailOnline has more.

Euro 2020 matches at Wembley will be exempt from lockdown rules and will host a minimum of 22,500 fans even if Freedom Day is delayed.

Discussions have taken place in government over allowing more fans to attend the two round of 16 games, as well as the semi-finals and finals, up to 45,000.

But sources told Sportsmail on Friday no agreement had been reached on the capacities for the knock out stages.

It comes as pubs called for a cash bailout if Freedom Day is moved back and they have to work under restrictions during the football.

UKHospitality CEO Kate Nicholls said “It’s vital further financial support is forthcoming” because “major sporting occasions always offer bumper sales”.

Meanwhile an official claimed the 3,000-strong fan zone in Glasgow will be one of the safest places to watch the tournament.

Chris Weitz, senior sport development officer at Glasgow Life, said he is confident it will be a safe environment.

But the London Assembly refused to be drawn on whether the official fan park in Trafalgar Square will go ahead.

Doubt they will get that many anyway – most are sickened by the KNEE!

Agree, although it seems to be a particularly British thing, more self-flagellation, just looks silly now.

I think it’s time a large pub chain stood up to this joyless Marxist government and just fully opened up their pubs. Sue the government and take them to court. Get Johnson, Hancock and co., to explain this ongoing attack upon our civil liberties and curtailment of freedoms.

Let me get this right:
Weddings are restricted
Meeting outside is restricted
But Wembley can be 1/4 full and maybe up to 45% full. Test matches can have spectators.
In Scotland you can go to Hampden Park for football.
This virus has awareness of itself, time and space, remarkable for a strand of RNA.

The 11pm curfew in Paris was waived last night, but only for those inside Roland Garros watching a particularly exciting and important tennis match.

Anyone who still thinks the govts are concerned with public health in any serious way really needs to clear their head of the wool and try and add 2 + 2 to get 4.

Adding 2 and 2 to get 4 is now against Facebook community guidelines.

Eriksen, the Danish player , got a heart message on the pitch for 15 minutes. Apparently just got his second jab.

His heart actually stopped and had to be restarted.

The Italians (Eriksen played in Italy – he won’t play again) are world leaders in monitoring the hearts of their sportsmen and women. This suggests that it wasn’t a congenital disorder, and that there were no known risks. There have been previous on-pitch collapses by footballers, but they are very rare – two that I know of in the professional game in the last twenty years.

I wonder if other players who have had “vaccinations” are concerned.

It will be interesting to see if the press start looking into this, and if so, at what stage they are warned off.

The Mail report this morning that he had not had the “vaccination”.

This, once again, confirms that the instincts of Kim Jong Johnson are totalitarian, the exact opposite of libertarian.

Toby Young needs to grasp this elementary and obvious fact.
