Wales Takes Super Cautious Approach to Easing Lockdown Restrictions

Restrictions on outdoor gatherings will be relaxed in Wales from Monday, but indoor events have been left on hold due to concerns about the Indian Delta Covid variant, despite the country having the highest vaccination rate in the U.K. The Guardian has the story.

Up to 30 people will be able to meet outdoors and large outdoor activities can resume in Wales from Monday, the First Minister, Mark Drakeford, has announced.

The size of extended households can be increased to up to three households and a further household with a single adult or single adult with caring responsibilities will also be able to join.

Drakeford said the move to alert level one would be phased, with outdoor events opening first. Ministers will review the public health situation again, before June 21st, to determine whether indoor events can restart.

The first minister said the two-stage approach would enable more people to be vaccinated – and complete their two-dose course – amid growing concerns about the spread of the Delta variant across the U.K.

Of the 12,431 cases of the variant first detected in India thus far confirmed in the U.K., 97 are in Wales compared with 10,797 in England, 1,511 in Scotland and 26 in Northern Ireland.

Drakeford said: “The emergence of the Delta variant shows the pandemic is not over yet and we all need to continue to take steps to protect ourselves and our loved ones.”

He’s also completely fun averse. Good job many people in Wales are taking no notice of his ridiculous rules.

Wales online took care to explain the new rules. It also took care to explain the existing rules, because nobody knew what they were.

You can have 3 males, 4 females, 2 rabbits, plus an extra rabbit if you are going to eat it, but only one of them is allowed inside at a time. Seriously who listens to this shit. It was over even in normie minds months ago, it’s just the business restrictions that’s left.

No. He’s not that. There’s a reasonable rationale behind an individual pleasuring himself.

I’d like to make a sensible riposte but words fail me. Why do people believe that little tool of an excuse for a man? Such an arrogant little shit. If he is the best political leader that Wales can produce then I’m a banana.

I have a nasty feeling that you have just turned into something yellow and curvaceous, because Wales has indeed nothing better to offer than that wrinkly little pseudo-stalinist toad.

Number of patients in intensive care testing positive for covid, across the whole of Wales during the week ending 30th May? ONE!
But we can’t be too careful.

TheWHO has decreed that scariants are to be named after letters in the Greek alphabet, to avoid stigmatising their place of origin.

Hey! What about the other 350,000 variants? Don’t they get a mention?!

This is not cautious. If Mark Drakeford was taking a phased reduction in the number of punches you took from Joe Calzaghe, it would be obvious it wasn’t cautious so the same is true of his slow exit from lockdown.

Exactly. Lockdowns are not the “safe” option, nor are they orthodox – quite the opposite. They are untried before 2020, for good reasons, and 2020 has shown them to be futile and damaging, as predicted.

It is of no surprise when Wales I’d ruled by an individual with no scientific background and appoints a new Health Secretary with a degree in European Studies. Look no further than the waiting times for surgery in Wales compared to England. When we are led by fear not fact, superstition not science we are without hope,

Sorry – but a ‘scientific background’ has absolutely nothing to do with it when you look at the queue of shit-shovellers – such as represented by SAGE.

The key skills are actually about thinking skills and honesty, rooted in evidence. Admittedly these are the basis of scientific methodology, but they are not the same as technical ‘scientific’ knowledge.

Are the Welsh forbidden to cross the border into England where they will expose themselves to instant death?

Not forgetting that to some people in Wales it’s just a matter of literally crossing the street to go from Wales to England or vice-versa (envious of those lucky people who can just do “best of both worlds” scenario).

The sheeple round my way are getting hysterical about the English who “flocked” here for half term breaks this past week. Which is why the BBC news site (which I only looked at in order to see what Drakeford’s latest was) is hypng up what hot spot N.Wales is for the “Indian variant”.

Ultra cautious means closing the gap between the utterly pointless Spring restrictions and the Autumn Hammer Horror fictional respiratory resurgences. The smaller the gap the easier these sociopaths can claw back any lost control.
Our safety is and always has been of no concern or interest to these cyphers.
People must simply shrug this nonsense off and live their lives.
Next winter will be a sorry time without falling for this ‘ultra cautious’ bollocks.

No doubt we’ll have a dark autumn, followed by a dark winter, then a dark spring…ad nauseam…whilst they are building back better…

RickH

Interesting how the notion of judicious ‘caution’ is thrown to the winds in relation to vaccines, where there is real evidence of harm!

Silly old pratt, Drakeford. He’s pathetic and has and will cost Wales dearly.
I have no idea what we’re “allowed” to do in or outside. I just try to live as normal a life as I can and do my best to de-programme people (admittedly a lost cause). I simply do not believe the percentages given of those who want to continue with restrictions.
Warning: a new variant in a few days and another (or same one) in time for the 14th. It’ll be far more transmissible, may evade vaccines and we should all run and hide under the kitchen table! … to be cautious and safe.
