The covid debacle would have been the one thing that at last brought Peter Hitchens and his late brother into agreement, I’m sure. Christopher would’ve had an absolute field day with this bullshit
Peter and Christopher disagreed a lot while the latter was still alive, for example over the Iraq war. They publicly debated it, and quite acrimoniously.
They would certainly have agreed on the insanity of lock downs.
I doubt it. Not if you read about Christopher’s attitudes to death and dying.
“Of Chainsaws and Moralism: What Does the Covid Moment Tell us About the Contemporary Left?” – Covid was a challenge for “the politics of resistance, struggle and change,” and one which “the left has failed disastrously”, says Keith Johnson at LeftLockdownSceptics The Left has been entirely co-opted by the Globalist assholes. It’s the reason why there is no pushback to the totalitarian government we have in place – Keir Starmer is a Globalist and Trilateral Committee member. If he was in charge things would actually be WORSE! I have great respect for the principled Left. Sadly, there aren’t too many of them around these days. “Millions ‘unwittingly tracked’ by phone after vaccination to see if movements changed” – Phone data of people who’d been vaccinated were tracked in February without their owners’ express knowledge, the Telegraph has learned, for SPI-B research into people’s behaviour post vaccination“Sewage testing ramped up in England” – The BBC reports that the Government has accelerated its programme analysing wastewater for signs of the coronavirus, with sewage testing now taking place in over two thirds of the country Sorry Toby, UK Column is way ahead of you on this. Maybe you should watch their output, instead of the obsolete… Read more »
“The Left has been entirely co-opted by the Globalist assholes”
Oh ffs – stop insulting the intelligence of the primate that’s your moniker. Our over-riding problem is right wing ‘arseholes’ in charge of this country and most of Europe (and have been for some time).
Sorry RickH, but the left has indeed been almost entirely co-opted by the Globalist assholes.
Also, having a go at left leaning woke Covidians doesn’t mean that it isn’t right wing arseholes who are driving the Covid scamdemic, in the government of the UK and others across Europe.
Rowan – I don’t disagree with your basic point. My condemnation has been aimed at moronic old-style political playground chanting that is just a reflection of the propagandist shite that you get in the MSM You will find that I have been absolutely consistent in condemning individuals (like Starmer) and bodies (like Unions) who pretend to be ‘left’ but have followed the Tory lead.
The essence is that this shit-show cuts across the old left/right mickey-mouse divisions in politics, and I simply am reacting to what I call the ‘hobby-horse’ postings of those who want to remain in the playground of that outdated analysis. It is extremely counter-productive and diversionary when a coalition is what is required.
The old Left aren’t in control of the movement any more, i.e. looking to represent the ordinary people. They’ve been superseded by the radical woke Left who despise ordinary people, and just seek power and control, and are far more like the Communists than anything. They’re collectivist – where the individual doesn’t count, only the collective – corrupt, and are anti free speech.
The “right” are not totalitarian Nazis. That again is a false label. The Nazis were socialists. Read the propaganda paper by Goebbels.
The new right are more likely to be individualistic, want smaller, not bigger government, who uphold rule of law for everyone without a political slant, e.g. not like the harmonisation of the judiciary against political opponents, as is happening in the U.S., and sometimes happens here. We’re pro free speech, and individual rights. We’re anti-critical race theory, etc.
You’re spouting selective nonsense – like many right-wing ‘Tweren’t me sir’ apologists who use a brick wall as a substitute for the Overton Window in order to match various fantasies and re-write political definitions.
Frankly – you really have to be a bit dim to come up with ‘the Nazis were socialists’ crap and not to see that the neoliberal right have been calling the tune in Europe for some time. Which, as I say, doesn’t excuse those on the self-described ‘left’ who are fellow-travellers in this shit-show.
Me? I tend not to take Hitler and Co.’s propaganda utterances as gospel!
Just get a grip and stop peddling your own political short-sight.
As a Thatcherite conservative with anarchist sympathies I entirely agree with you RickH.
You’re seriously calling the likes of the Democrats far right, who are actively pursuing the same policies over covid and money printing as Boris and his government? Or the ex-communists and socialists over in the EU? Spain is run by a minority socialist government, and has been for years..
Angela Merkel was a member of the East German communist party, working in “agitprop” in her younger days.
The countries of the EU tend far more towards the soft socialist left than to the “right”, but politics is not really about the left vs right. It’s more nationalist conservative versus the globalists, corporatists and oligarchs; big state control versus small state/government.
Whatever else Boris is, he’s not “far right.”

Those Damned Nazis
by Joseph Goebbels
“Why we are Nationalists” “Why we are socialists.”
“but politics is not really about the left vs right”
… which is precisely what I said. Specifically, it’s about the logical end result of uncontrolled free-market monopoly capitalism.
“Vaccines nearly as effective …”. Since vaccine effectiveness is nearly impossible to determine for viruses that have a 99.8% survival rate, it will be precisely as effective or ineffective as the politicians want it to be on any given day.
Even based on the claimed 95% efficacy they are less use than lemsip
0·9% for the Pfizer–BioNTech,
1% for the Gamaleya,
1·4% for the Moderna–NIH,
1·8% for the J&J, and
1·9% for the AstraZeneca–Oxford vaccines.

However we know they lied about the data and these can be divided by about 5 as the efficacy is more like 19% which is below the 50 needed before they can even apply for approval

really good links – thanks
it gives hope that there are decent people in the medical establishment publishing in reputable journals
but also scary that so much data is still hidden from scrutiny
It’s all been hidden in plain sight since the start.
This site was once a beacon of journalistic light. Now it simply an aggregator of the few mainstream media reports that make it past the sensors.
The Laura and James chinwags are always great, but the coming Delingpod must be one to put in the calendar: It’s an interview with the German lawyer who (from what I gather) is pushing for Nuremberg style trials into the Covid virus response by officials. I also highly recommend “When Politicians Panicked” by John Tamny.
I have heard it on Subscribe Star – It is AMAZING. — I think and his huge team of Lawyers will win ==
So M&S profits have crashed?
Serve the b… well right. They were way ahead even of the bedwetting retail mob in turning their stores into ‘Covid-safe’ hell.
Oh, and there’s the ideal penal-servitude-for-life work for the Fascist gangsters after they’ve been tried and convicted: testing sewage for Covid. Collecting samples by hand.
We were discussing sewage testing back last summer when I posted about the local DoE water testing lab (a large facility that tests hundreds of fresh water supplies day in day out throughout the year).
They had almost abandoned their routine work to concentrate on testing sewage for Covid as it was thought this could identify infection hotspots down to very localised areas even to individual streets.
My local M&S food hall turned into a gulag overnight. Fenced off, secure, unsocially distanced, queuing system outside, maniacal cleaning, SS camp commandant at the doors, and full on, compulsory, virtual signalling nap-wearing by the punters. God help you if you dare claim exemption. It really became one of the worst places to shop in, and that’s saying something, mainly because of the attitude of the cowed but oh, so virtuous shopping crowd, giving laser eyes stars, or muttering loudly enough, under their disgusting face panty, that people like me shouldn’t be allowed in! Yes. That did happen. Haven’t been back.
If they are causing you distress by saying ‘people like me . . .’ they will be guilty of hate crime aggravated by reason of whatever disability exempts you from wearing a mask.
It’s the same as saying people with guide dogs or wheelchairs should not be allowed to go shopping in case they cause a blockage in the event of a fire.
You’re right. I was well within my rights to complain to the manager, and tell them that they have a duty of care to all their customers, and that includes ensuring that their customers are not bullying others who may have medical exemption. But this was in my less emboldened days. How this last year has taught me so much, and given me so much more courage!
Same experience here. Not going there lowers my blood pressure and saves £
sounds just like mine – you give an excellent description of it.
I went into a John Lewis – Virtually everything I asked for was Out of Stock – go online. Then came a syrupy voiced announcement – Our first priority is to Keep You Safe —— agggggh! No you are a shop not a hospital and as I have more chance of dying on the roads driving to John Lewis why don’t you say Please don’t come -the roads are dangerous … I have been a John Lewis Customer for 50 years – No Longer. No wonder they are in trouble. You are a shop – NOT A HOSPITAL
and their over-priced rather ordinary food.
Of course they’re testing sewage, not nearly enough ‘cases’ being found ramming sticks up our noses, they’ve got to keep this debacle going somehow.
“Millions ‘unwittingly tracked’ by phone after vaccination to see if movements changed”
Really? Unwittingly? Utter bollox.
I wonder if they actually are testing sewage at all. I mean they can say what they like, and as proved over the last year, like everything else, it will be supped up like mothers milk by the gullible public.
Yes they are (or were) see my response to Annie above.
That information came direct from a front line Dept of Environment lab technician.
I would imagine very few “sheep” will come across that article – but if you did how on earth could you not be chilled by the creeping surveillance???
The ONS bloke crowing about the use of public data is a bit rich. As far as I have seen, never has so much data been gathered to so little useful effect as with c19. So often, the information that would seem obviously useful for actual public health purposes isn’t available. Only information useful to political agendas is freely available, albeit in general they cherry pick whatever measure suits their purpose at a given time and ignore others (the R number for example – the media never ask about that now it’s low).
Agree, however the R number is not data, it’s a modelled fiction. There are much simpler and better ways to forecast trends.
The R number is akin to when all Church services were conducted entirely in Latin.
Only the initiated ‘knew’ what it was all about leaving the serfs to genuflect when instructed before paying their tithes.
Why do think it’s fiction? It is, of course, an estimate and the R number will not be the same everywhere but it’s a simple measure to estimate the rate of transmission in a population.
e.g. if 10 infected cases leads to 15 newly infected cases then R=1.5.
Trouble is – it’s fiction based on crap data.
ZOE has been a good predictor.
Here “cases” have fallen through the floor but the R number has gone up. Makes zero sense, but then it was never meant to
“if 10 infected cases leads to 15 newly infected cases then R=1.5”.
Sorry, and I genuinely don’t want to insult in anyway, but is this a joke? Because it’s like something out of primary school maths book: If X=Y and X=2 then calculate Y.
What is it that you object to? The method of estimation can be different and there is often the problem that we are looking in the rear view mirror but the principle is sound.
Let I= number of infections then I’= dI/dt, i.e. the change in infections over time.
i’ = aI – bI = (a-b)I
where a=transmission rate; b= recovery rate.
R = a/b If R > 1 infection increase; R < 1 infection declines.
How do you think the bozos know when to time the lockdowns
ZOE is probably the most reliable up to date data.
Same with cctv coverage. More cameras per head than any other country, but can never catch any perpetrators!
Plus they are always on the blink when the “terrorists” attack.
If the government want to monitor sewage to protect public health, then perhaps they can stop fucking dumping so much of it into the sea.
But NOW, and only for fully vaccinated people, the CDC will only accept samples achieved from 28 cycles or fewer. That can only be a deliberate decision in order to decrease the number of “breakthrough infections” being officially recorded.
Secondly, asymptomatic or mild infections will no longer be recorded as “covid cases”.
https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/caught-red-handed-cdc-changes-test-thresholds-virtually-eliminate-new-covid-cases-among
That appears to be very significant information.
Worthy of ATL attention – to be added to Will Jones’ recent analysis
“ 28 cycles or fewer”
… is still too high.
Scottish government read this.
Still recording CV on death certificate even if no test is ever done!
It’s not as if the PCR test is not useless enough, they have to make it up.
Also this is an epic line
“Excess death from most causes rose significantly last year.
– the exception was DEATHS FROM RESPITATORY DISEASES where the number was much lower than average
😂
“You had a blood clot and your leg fell off”
“This means the jabs working”
Some journalism from years gone by. CDC get skewered over the 1976 swine flu vaccine.
3 short clips and worth watching in full…
https://twitter.com/Covid_1984_/status/1395958511905828865
never has all cause mortality been so important
we need to know who is dying and whether they were vaccinated or not
no point crowing about how few vaccinees get covid when they are dying of the vaccine
Where is the Covid Marshal when you need one or doesn’t the Rule Of 6 with two households apply in Scotland ?
With all the reports of fully vaccinated people remaining absolutely terrified and intending to continue shielding/wearing masks/shitting their pants, why do places feels it’s in any way sensible to “prioritise” the feelings of the vaccinated? I would strongly urge anyone who believes in freedom or who is unvaccinated or who thinks apartheid is bad to avoid these places.
The last thing you do with a mental illness is conform to it, otherwise you just make it worse.
Agreed, support those places, unless they are OTT about Covid safety. Flaunt your face and if the terrified don’t like it they can always leave.
what do they plan to do n chicago – seat the unvaccinated beside the door to the loos??
do they not get that we are all using the same airspace, breathing in the same air, and the unvaccinated will be inhaling the aerosols along with any virus shedded by the vaccinated??? please tell me if I am wrong on this
“The BBC reports that the Government has accelerated its programme analysing wastewater for signs of the coronavirus, with sewage testing now taking place in over two thirds of the country”
Trans: They’re desperate to find something to justify repression.
Let’s test sewage in Wankok’s tea, see if he can taste the difference between covvisewage and noncovvuesewage,
“Dominic Cummings is to give evidence to MPs about the Government’s handling of coronavirus, and “the ultimate data geek will deploy everything to win the argument” says Tim Shipman in the Sunday Times”
A bit like getting Harold Shipman to give evidence on end-of-life care.
Recommendations, rather.
“Pat Fagan in the Mail On Sunday asks why people who have had both jabs are still being asked to isolate by the Test and Trace system when evidence suggests that they are unlikely to pass the virus on”
Even assuming the question is genuine – this is a classic illustration of why journalism is dead.
“Sebastian Rushworth reviews and recommends a book by Peter Gotzsche which slaughters the sacred cows of both the pro- and anti-vaccine camps”
It’s worth actually reading this review, which, it turns out, was published too soon to cover Covid vaccines. The headline actually gives a false impression in order to try to create a ‘balance’ between ‘anti-vaxxers’ and ‘vaxxers’. Of course, those opposing Covid vaccines are not, by a long chalk ‘anti-vaxxers’, which is used as a propaganda term. They are opposed to this snake-oil.
It does look as if the book may be a useful corrective against undescriminating vaccine worship.
32 years after the fall of the physical Berlin Wall, a Digital Iron Curtain has now been constructed by authoritarian and corrupt Western governments. This new version has to be smashed as well.
OK, so as far as I see the trick is to hype how deadly the Indian variants are for a couple of weeks and then say the experimental death shot can beat it. In other words, ramp up the fear to boiling point then the vaccines saves the day – am I missing anything here?
Oh, and claim the Indian variants are in places with a lot of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi people, just for good measure.
