A Cartoonist’s View of the Last 18 Months in the Style of the Bayeux Tapestry

[smartslider3 slider=”3″]

Today we’re publishing a series of cartoons, Bayeux Tapestry-style, by a Lockdown Sceptics reader, telling the story of the global panic caused by the Covid outbreak. He’s a professional cartoonist, but for the sake of his career wishes to go under the name of “Artamer”.

The images change automatically to take you through the story, but you can speed the process up by clicking the right-hand arrow – or go back by clicking the left-hand arrow. To start again at the beginning, refresh the page. (For mobile users, just scroll through the images in the normal way.) Enjoy.

The panel with the shields reminds me of Asterix and Gallier people who were afraid the sky would fall onto them.

Oh No, don’t tell me that if you don’t wear face nappies and run away from others, the sky is going fall onto us.

So so good. Needs to be printed as a poster and a picture book IMO.

Wonderful stuff, the recreation of the Bayeux style is superb so congratulations and thanks to Artamer.
Just one minor gripe, Town Criers isn’t allowed because lockdown.

The story is incomplete. When does the king get the proverbial arrow in the eye?

There’s always one.
Its name is fon.
It’s vaccine mad.
We think that’s bad.

In self-defence,
Don’t take offence:
It makes fon’s bile redouble
It’s just not worth the trouble.

the last sheet of the tapestry is very useful:
think for yourself
enjoy your life
help others
and be not afraid
Indeed.

Clever. I like it.
Pity they can’t spell ‘non-existent’. But nobody’s perfect.

It’s what comes from using forced labour sewing women, perhaps deliberate disruption to embarrass the new king.
