More than Half of Britons Now Immune
According to an Office of National Statistics survey published today, more than half of people in England now have Covid antibodies. MailOnline has more.
A major Office for National Statistics (ONS) testing survey today revealed 54.7 per cent of people in England had the virus-fighting proteins in the week ending March 14, up from 50.8 per cent the week prior.
The figure is likely to be even higher now because millions more have been vaccinated since the blood tests were conducted a fortnight ago, and it takes about two weeks for immunity to kick in.
It highlights the success of the country’s mammoth vaccine roll-out, which has seen 30.5million Brits given their first dose and 3.7m fully vaccinated.
Boris Johnson is now facing demands to lift lockdown faster, with Covid cases, hospitalisations and deaths having fallen to their lowest level for six months. People in England have to wait at least another seven weeks before pubs, restaurants and hotels can fully reopen and allow customers inside. Foreign holidays are also banned until at least May 17.
One Tory MP told MailOnline the PM must bring forward the arbitrary dates in order to ‘maintain public confidence that we are getting our freedom as soon as possible’. Steve Baker, of the Covid Recovery Group, called on No10 to ask SAGE to see whether the relaxation of restrictions could be safely brought forward.

In other news, also in MailOnline, public concern about coronavirus has plummeted, with the proportion of Brits who say the disease is a big issue facing the UK having fallen by 23% in one month.
A new survey conducted by IpsosMORI revealed 49% of people view COVID-19 as one of the biggest issues facing the UK.
But that number is down 23% on what was recorded in February – the first significant drop in levels of concern about the disease since June 2020.
The polling firm said the figures suggested the “public may feel the end of the pandemic is in sight”.

Stop Press: According to Patrick Flynn in the Telegraph, whatever the Government says about its stage-by-stage roadmap it feels like the people have declared lockdown over.

I downloaded both the updated infection survey and the antibody modelled numbers ( by Oxford Uni group , nothing to do with Heneghan &co). The lack of data on size of sample is stark. The antibody modelling ‘study’ has no supporting data.
It could be two people for all I know. Anyone read this?
I’d wondered how they could possibly have antibody-tested 50% of the population!
A model, eh? Who’d have guessed it.
My big question now is: Is this supposed to be good news? Why are they telling us this rather than pushing the jab?
Sceptical – moi?
they could have sampled a random x% of people and said ‘50% have antibodies so probably 50% of the population do’ – but that isn’t modelling and they definitely say it comes from modelling
Well if immunity is only associated with antibody levels, then it provides a ‘rationale’ for continued never-ending ‘vaccination’, as antibody levels are a short term indicator. The long term indicator is memory T cells that contain the instructions on how to rapidly reconstruct antibodies during subsequent infections.
Ah! There’s the answer, thanks.
Presumably by the time the other 50% have been vaccinated, it will be time to start on the first victims again.
I always worry when I see the term ‘modelling’ – usually means they don’t have any real data to go on.
‘Figure 1 – modelled percentage of people testing +ve for antibodies….’ what does that even mean? you either measured it or you didn’t. if you didn’t then its the output of a SIR epidemiology model predicting how many people ‘should’ have antibodies.
I’d be interested in how many people actual have antibodies. if it is 50%+ then we are done because the rest will have non-antibody immunity or will just be invincible to it (ie 95% of people)
Modelling is the last refuge of the scoundrel.
When someone mentions modelling, I think of Neil Ferguson and I’d rather not.
It’s all getting beyond tiresome. We are being manipulated to understand that lockdowns and other measures have successfully delivered a downturn in so-called “cases” and unautopsied “deaths”.
No doubt the recently introduced vaccinations would be also be given credit if the creepy buggers in charge thought they could get away with it. Nevertheless we are being given to understand that there will be no let-up until everybody has had Big Pharma’s filthy concoction jabbed into their blood stream.
God save us. Get a move on please Reiner Fuellmich and the Nuremberg Trials 2.
Surely the success of any trial depends upon the probity of the judiciary. Does anyone believe in that any more?
I know what you mean. I’m prepared to give them one last chance though 🙂
Thank goodness so many more people are recognising the experimental biologicals have minimal safety or efficacy data, many adverse events and deaths post vaccine, ref CDC VAERS. I am sorry for those who accepted it.
If the various science bod whistleblowers are correct, the long term effects 9-18 months from now and longer are really going to be sh.. hitting the fan. We really have to find some kind of antidote /remediation measures for these ‘vaccs’.
Devi Sridhar not been on twitter for a few days after getting called out for spreading fake news about vaccines – hilarious

She should go to jail. Move directly to jail. Without passing Go! And definitely not collecting £200.
Have you clocked the latest repulsive vaccine propaganda fronted by Lenny Henry? It’s aimed at the black community who, so far, have shown greater discrimination in not falling for the propaganda.
It’s truly revolting.
Massive irony that a supposed advocate of the rights of minorities is fronting for the agents of repression.
Agreed. I’m white but I was disgusted by their use of at least half a dozen well known, loved and respected black actors using total emotional blackmail. Shame on you all!
Louis Farrakhan, Nation of Islam in Chicago was advised by outspoken scientists, to advise his followers to not take the vaccines. They had concerns about adverse events.
I don’t have Covid antibodies. I have an anti-Covid body, an anti-Covid mind, and an anti-Covid soul.
That should go on a teeshirt!
“No 10 to ask Sage”
What the exclamation mark does that mean other than (yet again) absolute proof that the people supposedly voted for to run the country most certainly don’t
Exactly right. God help us
And SAGE will ask NERVTAG. And NERVTAG will ask Ferguson for a model.
NERVTAG produces The Science.
SAGE massages The Science for public consumption
Sage will ask the Behavioural Insights Team and the next Psy-Op will be put smoothly in motion.
“It highlights the success of the country’s mammoth vaccine roll-out, which has seen 30.5million Brits given their first dose and 3.7m fully vaccinated.”
Does it? Or does it highlight the fact that half of Britons have been exposed to the virus and have developed immunity to it (or already had immunity from previous related infections)?
Or simply that it’s guesstimated that half of Britons have cellular debris the same as that used to define Sars cov2 in the first place…. strange that!
A vaccine gives me immunity. Really?
But does a ‘self-identified vaccine’ give you immunity? The only known immunity so far is to life itself for some unforunates.
Be nice to see mass T Cell immunity testing so they’d have no reason to cry ‘too soon’ and ‘the next wave’. I guess there is some irony that they use ‘wave’ an awful lot yet have failed to realise shouting at the sea to tell to it go away may appear to work twice a day. Them blaming people for not shouting loud enough and saying they need to walk further out isn’t a sensible policy when it returns the next day.
It would carry more weight if a “real” scientist commented on the ONS’s study. 50% of uk population immune. At what point do we reach herd immunity, does this immunity wane with time? Also, people are more worried about the virus, than their incomes, job security, Brexit, children’s education, the massive damages done to all the businesses forced to shutdown for nearly a year, and access to the nhs for elective surgeries backlogged severely.
Well ignoring the potential problems about using models, is it reasonable to say that we’re now very close to herd immunity? Given this 50% and prior immunity, it must be around 70%?
I’m aware that some of the models (Ferguson?) don’t take prior immunity into account but my layman’s reading is that it is a “thing”. Not only has there always been some prior immunity with every single other virus but some of the accidental experiments carried out on cruise ships and aircraft carriers show a certain percentage never caught the virus. Am I right or off the mark here?
A not often quoted idea is that no ‘virus’ is contagious (part and parcel of the terrain as opposed to germ theory of disease). Whichever concept you feel is right in relation to Covid; ‘naturally’ evolved viral contagion, man-made hybrid pathogen or no exogenous virus at all, I foresee 200 years into the future we will be being laughed at for our primitive views of health and disease!
As there are several viruses in the coronavirus family it seems logical that the majority of us have come across one or more in our lifetime.
Antibodies, Shmantibodies.
It is an energy-consuming process to produce antibodies (hence the fatigue during infection) so eventually antibody counts fall away. So how does the body leverage its hard-won immunity if antibodies are no longer present. It uses memory T cells to rapidly regenerate antibodies when needed. The real measure of immunity lies in the presence of these cells, not antibodies.
Which is why they’re studiously looking the other way.
How can you state that COVID19 a cases are declining as a result of increased vaccination? Has there been a random, double blind test done to confirm this? What about the adverse events following vaccinations?
Having antibodies to COVID19 doesnt really mean people are actually immune. Remember the ferrets in the SARS vaccine trials?
